Geothermal energy
Geothermal systems are environmentally friendly heating systems which can be used for heating, hot water production and, if desired, also for cooling buildings. The majority of the energy required comes from the ground. It is free and always available. If geothermal probes are carried out professionally, they protect the environment and your bank account.
The consumption of primary energy is very low, so that savings of up to 70% compared to heating oil or gas can be expected.
Heat pumps only require electricity. If you install a photovoltaic system parallel to the current installation or in the future, you can make yourself largely independent of the energy supply and price increases.
Geothermal systems with heat pumps are sophisticated systems, reliable and maintenance-free and have been used in millions of installations in Europe for over 50 years.
What is Geothermal?
Our planet is like a battery – the sun provides large amounts of energy, which are stored in air, earth and water. The soil has the property of constantly keeping this geothermal heat at a constant temperature level. With the help of heat pumps, we can take advantage of this solar energy – all year round and at any time of the day.
How do you get geothermal energy?
Geothermal energy is collected using polyethylene pipes embedded in the ground. A liquid flows through this closed circuit, which has the property of absorbing heat and then transporting it to the surface. These pipe systems, also called geothermal probes, can be used in almost any surface and at any altitude.
What is a heat pump?
A heat pump is similar to a refrigerator. The way they work is based on a simple principle: when a gas is compressed, its temperature rises. Conversely, the expansion of the gas creates cold. The power consumption is extremely low: with 1 kWh of electricity, heat pumps generate 3–6 kWh of heat.
Our references
In the past 15 years, we have built over 3,500 geothermal probes, drilling over 500,000 meters and installing over 6,500 kW heat pumps. Our facilities range from Cyprus to the high Alpine regions, from single-family homes to large residential complexes, hotels and industrial companies.
